179TH AND VYSE, BRONX, NY (PART XXXII): LIFE BEFORE DEATH IN (ugh) NEW JERSEY

(continued)

the path along boston road was always open at all times.

the zoo fence must have been very roughly three miles long, running from boston road and bronx park south up to southern blvd., then along southern blvd to fordham road which (at some point) turns into pelham parkway further down and returns along boston road to bronx park south.

there was a tear in the fence near pelham pkway on boston road near where there was an entrance near monkey island.  so of course a brainless tween, me, went in after hours and was busy sightseeing while heading for an exit near my neighborhood,  in the empty park.in the zoo after closing.  surprise, surprise, i was accosted and interrogated.  fortunately they did not cage me, torture me or kill me.  i was told to, "GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE AND DON'T COME BACK!", and sent to an exit.

phew ....
