ADVENTURES IN REAL ESTATE III

real estate poeople have impressed me with their pretend work, indolence, and egos.

the other day tired of mowing my lawn and being 150 years old i went over to a real estate office in a large retirement community nearby.  there must have been seven people in the real estate office.  all appearing to be doing stuff.  no other customers in sight.  apparently they were too busy to show me a property.  i guess the real estate market is so lucrative and fast moving that they can't be bothered with customers.

their financial guy did call the next day.  i now can finance the non-housing that i didn't see or buy.  "thanks", yeah sure.

on the other hand the first time we tried to sell a house we wound up paying some internet scam for their listing service.  my better half encouraged this avenue of sales over my skepticism.  our second attempt at selling that house resulted in serving the real estate agent coffee and listening to her as if she knew something and us doing all the measurements and descriptions.  she would have gladly accepted her well earned commisiion if there was any.  the third attempt seemed promising.  the selling agent lounged around our "open house" house on sundays.  she eventually got the sale when the buyer's father was just driving by on a weekday, saw the for sale sign, and dropped in for a look, fortunately the real estate boom was just starting and their child's school year was starting in a month.

bye.  let me out of here.  we packed our stuff and escaped (ugh) new jersey (land of the lost).
