OVERVIEW - JUST SAYIN'
overall, if you are not in harm's way or in the sights of your enemy, the military can be an easy and healthy way of life. all your needs can be taken care of one way or another. like any job it can occasionally require subservience. in retrospect my basic training and service time was a fairly good experience.
if you are oriented to a very average civilian life style as i was then military service is a total waste of time. i also worked for DOD (for only about 30 years) and am still deeply offended by delusional employees who thought this employment was more than an ordinary job (and not a very good one). i have two words for them .... ummm .... something something. many of them had personal agendas not related to the protection of this country.
