somehow republican thought is that people in business who are inefficient,or incompetent or who (really) do not qualify for a job are entitled to cheap labor or worse yet slave labor to continue in their inept ways.  on the other hand an essential government supported activity such as education, postal service, police protection, etc. are expendable.

eventually, their base will wise up.  maybe.  they still haven't figured out the cause of illness or natural disasters.  the predominant thought is that god is punishing sinners or something else bizarre.
